Harmonies of Unity: A Joyful Concert Celebrating the Diversity and Abilities of All.

Dear Patron,

In 1994, at the age of 43, when Christopher “Superman Reeve broke his neck in a horse- riding accident and became paralyzed from the neck down unable to breathe on his own, fans, friends and well-wishers were shocked beyond belief and prayed fervently for his recovery. Two years after the horrific event, he returned to creative work, and wrote two autobiographical books : “Stille” and “Nothingis Impossible’.

None of it would have been possible without the blessings of modern medicine. Neuro rehabilitation played a key role in helping Reeve live a productive life in spite of the severely disabling accident. Neuro-rehabilitation is a complex medical process which aims to aid recovery from a nervous system injury, and to minimize and/or compensate for any functional alterations resulting from it. Some major conditions that benefit from Neuro-rehabilitation include Stroke, Spinal Cord Injury, Cerebral Palsy, Parkinson’s Disease, Brain Injury {anoxic, traumatic etc}, Multiple Sclerosis, Post-polio Syndrome and Guillain-Barré Syndrome.

Thanking you and with kind regards,

Rajalakshmi (Raji) Chandru (Trustee & Chief Functionary).

Neuro-rehabilitation is long-term and needs patient and continuing therapy; while the privileged follow protocols, rope in home therapy or commute to specialised therapy centres, it is the under-privileged and the marginalised sections of society that remain neglected; often unfortunately, they are also the only breadwinners of the family. The Neuroaid& Research Foundation (NRF) aims to serve such patients, reach out to them / help them commute to an appropriate NRF facility and avail of advanced treatment free of cost.

NRF provides an integrated Neuro-rehabilitation service comprising physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, developmental paediatric service, clinical psychological counselling, and special education for those with neurological deficits. In the last seven years, NRF has provided about 135,000 therapy sessions, of which over 26,000 have been for children with special needs. More information is available on our website www.neuroaid.in.

Inadequate financial resources and a lack of awareness are possibly the most important factors at the national, state, and individual levels that limit appropriate access to neurotherapy in our country. Contributions from Corporates, PSUs, private organizations and individual donors will enable us to raise awareness, pay for rehabilitation, and train care-providers.

With this in mind, NRF proposes to hold its 3rd Awareness Program on Saturday, 10th June 2023, at the Kamani Auditorium, New Delhi with the objective of increasing awareness and sending out the crucial message that no matter how tough the journey, with focus, determination and meaningful partnerships with philanthropists, one can indeed build an advanced, integrated and comprehensive centre that can cater to the indigent and needy.

On behalf of NRF, we request you to be one of our sponsors. It is also an opportunity to demonstrate the cooperation between non-governmental organisations, public and private sectors for the benefit of society. We look forward to an early confirmation.

Thanking you and with kind regards,

Rajalakshmi(Raji) Chandru

Rajhesh Vaidhya

(Veena Vadak)

“The reward centre of the brain, called the nucleus accumbens, can even produce strong physical signs of pleasure, such as goosebumps, when it hears powerful music. Music therapy can use these deep physical reactions the body has to music, to help people with mental health conditions”.

Music has been a part of human life from time immemorial. Music has no language. Music is Therapy. Music Heals. Built on the belief that music has the power to break down boundaries and overcome the differences that divide us, Rajhesh Vaidhya collaborated with ‘Playing for Change’ for the album ‘Songs Around The World’ in 2008, having performed with world famous musicians and composers like Sir Elton John. Rajhesh creates music which integrates not only musical knowledge and creativity with fine motor skills, but takes it to the core of his audiences, mesmerising them with a power only he can.

Malavika Rajhesh

(Playback Singer)

All of 3 years, with a childlike curiosity and eagerness, the scion of Rajhesh Vaidhya: little Malavika Rajhesh: began her first lesson from the warmth of her grandmother Smt Kunnakudy Bala’s lap, went on to pursue singing as her passion, rising up to fame through the reality show Airtel Super Singer. With Veena however in her DNA, can she be far behind? She began her tryst with the now famous Vaidhya Veena since 2018 and is getting ready to complement the illustrious Rajhesh Vaidhya.
