Bum Bum Bole, Masti Mein Dole: Children’s Day Celebration at NRF

On November 15th 2025, The Neuroaid and Research Foundation (NRF) partnered with Aadyantara Arts to celebrate Children’s Day through a joyful workshop titled “Bum Bum Bole, Masti Mein Dole.” The event was designed to bring happiness and creativity to children with special needs through art and music.

Team Aadyantara, led by its Founder & Creative Director, Dr Swati Subodh, curated this event with support from its group of young volunteers who had enthusiastically prepared for this workshop since early October. The preparations began in September with the call for volunteers for the workshop. After two rounds of online discussions with NRF, the team was primed to the needs and capacities of the special children of NRF. The month-long preparation was both exciting, and challenging for the young team at Aadyantara, as they learnt, and repeatedly iterated their approach to put together an engaging session for the children.

Painting Session
The painting session encouraged children to explore colours, textures, and imagination. The kids created vibrant artwork that reflected their talent and enthusiasm. While many children gleefully joined in creating imprints and shapes on the canvas (and occasionally on their teachers and volunteers!), a few admired from the sides, watching the colours take form.

Jamming Session
The music session was one with infectious energy. Children sang along, strummed the guitar, and enjoyed a medley of slow paced, repetitive songs curated under NRF’s guidelines to ensure accessibility. The room was filled with smiles, rhythm, and connection as many children attempted to strum along on the guitar, much too keen to join the melody.

Impact
Both sessions followed NRF’s recommendations, making the workshop inclusive and memorable. We extend our heartfelt thanks to our volunteers and Aadyantara for their dedication. This collaboration builds on earlier initiatives, including NRF’s Storytelling Project showcased at the Purple Fest in Goa, in which Aadyantara contributed as the Audiobook’s Recording Partner.
At Aadyantara, we remain committed to fostering creativity, inclusivity, and compassion—one event at a time. We are grateful for our time with the special children of NRF. The smiles, the warm hugs, and the love that filled the room made this a truly memorable day for all of us….and hopefully for the little angels too!
