NRF in collaboration with Delhi Branch of AIOTA, successfully organized an inspiring Entrepreneurship Seminar and Toolkit Designing Hands-on Workshop on Therapeutic Activities on 27 September 2026 at the Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals Auditorium, New Delhi. The program brought together creativity, clinical expertise and entrepreneurial thinking to explore new possibilities in Occupational Therapy (OT) and rediscover that how a gap or a weakness in the system can be turned into a success story just by thinking differently

The inauguration brought together 07 generations of OTs on the same stage from 1965-2025. As a run up to OT Day on 27 October, the gathering was symbolic of the unity that exists among the Occupational Therapy community. NRF was priviledged to welcome as Chief Guest, Dr VS Bole (OT) who started the OT Department at Kalwati Saran Childrens’ Hospital and student of Dr Kamla V Nimbkar (pioneer of OT at KEM Hospital, Mumbai and the Asian Subcontinent in 1950). Dr RK Sharma, Former HOD Safdarjung Hospital and Principal Santosh College of OT, Dr Anoop Agarwal, Former HOD, PDUNIPPD & Dr Md. Yoosuf (OT), Director and Founder Shama Foundation also graced the occasion by their presence.

The Founder Trustee and Chief Functionary of NRF, Rajalakshmi Chandru, in her welcome address urged the OTs to work together with other rehabilitation professionals for the best results and maximum benefit of the community.

The first half of the day was on Entrepreneurship in OT. Dr Shovan Saha, the Resource person and Dr Neeraj Mishra (OT) & Keynote Speaker inspired the participants to think differently and become trailblazers of sorts. Officials from a government bank, shared insights into the processes, loans, schemes and documentation required for starting a small venture.

The second half of the day brought together 40 Occupational Therapy UG, PG students and professionals. Together, participants explored how to put together the elements of what can safely be called the oldest tool in Occupational Therapy—Therapeutic Activities. Through creativity, clinical reasoning, activity analysis, and practical exploration, the workshop encouraged participants to rethink familiar activities and transform them into purposeful therapeutic experiences.

Overall, the academic event was well received with positive and encouraging feedback.
