The healthcare landscape is rapidly evolving, and physiotherapists today are not only clinicians but also innovators, leaders, and entrepreneurs. Recognizing this shift, the School of Physiotherapy at Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research University (DPSRU), New Delhi, collaboration with The Neuroaid & Research Foundation organized an Entrepreneurship Awareness Program on “Entrepreneurial Opportunities and Practice Management for Physiotherapists” on 16 February 2026.
The program was conducted with the support of the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India, with the aim of encouraging physiotherapy students and professionals to explore entrepreneurial pathways and develop effective practice management skills.
The day-long event was held at the Delhi Innovation and Incubation Foundation (DIIF), DPSRU, from 09:30 AM to 05:00 PM, bringing together aspiring physiotherapists, academicians, and industry experts to discuss the growing opportunities within the field.
The program was organized under the leadership of Prof. Ravichandiran V., Vice-Chancellor, DPSRU, and guided by Dr. Minakshi K. Chauhan, Director, DIIF. The event was coordinated by Dr. Sheetal Kalra (Program Coordinator), Dr. J. Swaminathan (Nodal Coordinator), and Dr. Akash Midha (Assistant Nodal Coordinator). The initiative reflected DPSRU’s commitment to nurturing innovation and entrepreneurial thinking among healthcare professionals.
Expanding the Career Vision of Physiotherapists
Physiotherapists have been associated primarily with hospital-based roles. However, with the increasing demand for rehabilitation services, preventive care, and specialized therapies, the profession now offers a wide range of independent and entrepreneurial opportunities.
The awareness program was designed to help students understand that physiotherapy is not limited to clinical practice alone. Instead, it can evolve into successful healthcare ventures, rehabilitation centers, wellness initiatives, and innovative therapy services.

Followed by ,Dr. Aman Kanda (PT), which provided practical insights into setting up and managing a physiotherapy clinic covering essential aspects such as patient management, documentation, ethical practice, and operational planning.

Dr. Nidhi Kashyap (PT) & Dr. Sonal Sharma (PT) brought inspiration to the participants through case studies and real-life success stories, shared examples of physiotherapists who have built successful careers through specialization, research, and innovative practice models. These experiences encouraged students to view challenges as opportunities and to pursue excellence through dedication, creativity, and professional growth. We also discussed emerging and promising fields such as sports physiotherapy, neuro-rehabilitation, tele-rehabilitation, corporate wellness programs, and multidisciplinary rehabilitation centers. The session helped participants understand how physiotherapy services can be extended beyond traditional settings to reach diverse populations and healthcare needs.
