Ergonomics Workshop Empowers Teachers with Practical Wellness Tools

On 31st August, MCD School, Dallupura, Delhi, hosted an Ergonomics Workshop for Teachers, organised by The NeuroAid and Research Foundation. The session, held from 11:00 AM onwards, brought together 30 participating teachers for an engaging and informative experience focused on workplace health and posture awareness.

The workshop was led by two expert physiotherapists — Dr. Abhilasha Tomar (PT), from the Manav Ashray Branch of The NeuroAid and Research Foundation, and Dr. Pooja Maurya (PT), from the DCMS Branch. The session began with a presentation covering the fundamentals of ergonomics and its relevance to teachers, who often spend long hours standing, writing, or seated in postures that can lead to strain and fatigue over time.

After the presentation, the speakers led a hands-on session, demonstrating proper posture and simple exercises teachers can add to their daily routine to reduce discomfort and prevent long-term musculoskeletal issues. This practical, interactive segment allowed participants to try out the movements themselves under expert guidance.

The workshop concluded with an open doubt-clearing session, where teachers could ask questions specific to their postural concerns and work habits and receive personalised guidance from the physiotherapists. Informational pamphlets were also distributed to all participants, giving them a handy reference to revisit the key exercises and tips shared during the session. The workshop was well received by the teaching staff, who appreciated the practical, actionable nature of the guidance provided — a valuable step toward building healthier work habits within the school community.
